Whenever a new beauty product hits the market, words like "amazing" and "incredible" get thrown around. Unfortunately, they rarely stick around. Few new releases end up matching the pre-sale hype. Here's one that exceeds it: Voluma XC.
"Our patients are shocked and thrilled after seeing the instant results Voluma XC provides," says Dr. Craig Ingber of DermaCure of Valencia.
Why are women over 35 so excited by this FDA-approved filler?
"Mid-face volume loss is a primary aging indicator," says Dr. Ingber. "The full, contoured cheeks we associate with youth and vitality begin hollowing, sinking and drooping as the years go by. Voluma XC replenishes this volume and, when in the hands of a skilled practitioner, can be used to provide gorgeous, coveted contour to the face. When optimally used, these results can last as long as two years."
Introduced in December 2013, Voluma XC is the only FDA-approved injectable for use in the cheeks and upper face. When injected correctly, it produces an instant lifting of the entire face including the naso-labial folds and marionette lines; it even lifts the corners of the mouth.
Voluma's unique cross-linking of its molecules allows the FDA to state that it gives a visible 2 year improvement to a patient's appearance. In fact, 72 percent of the women in the studies said they looked 5 years younger at six months post-injection and 3 years younger at two years post-injection.

The History of Voluma
First there was Juvederm Ultra; then came Ultra Plus - a thicker version; and now Allergan has created Voluma. All three products carry the XC designation, indicating that they contain Lidocaine, a local anesthetic that makes the injections virtually painless.
All three are composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance found in abundance in our own skin and cartilage. These injections are manufactured without any animal products and high-volume practitioners like Dr. Ingber of DermaCure have never seen an allergic reaction.
Because these products are reversible with an injection of the enzyme hyaluronidase, the results are practically fool proof in the right hands.
Juvederm Ultra has been available for over 12 years. Being the thinnest of the trio, it is ideal for use in the lips, correcting nasal defects, fine lines on the face and neck and even to plump sagging ear lobs. It can reduce the appearance of acne, chicken pox and other scars. Except for lips, Ultra will last nine to 12 months.
Juvederm Ultra Plus arrived about five years ago. It is a thicker version of Ultra. It has great value in areas like the naso-labial folds (smile lines), marionette lines and for chin augmentation. Again, it is reversible and can last up to 15 months.
Voluma has taken the injectable market by storm by providing incredible volume and contour to the mid-face and cheek areas. The result is a beautiful, natural-look lift of the entire face.
Dr. Ingber and the "Facelift in a Syringe"
Craig Ingber, MD, is a board certified facial plastic surgeon at DermaCure of Valencia and a black diamond injector of the Juvederm family. He has already injected 49 syringes of this latest miracle - Voluma XC - and proclaims it a "face lift" in a syringe. Dr. Ingber is the most experienced Voluma practitioner in the SCV.
Voluma XC is injected deeper in the face than other fillers and should be used by physicians, like facial plastic surgeons, with an intimate knowledge of facial structures. Voluma is now available at DermaCure of Valencia with exclusive introductory pricing valid through February 17, 2014.
