She Bee's Accessories

After 15 years in the film industry, Valencia resident Lori Dalton decided to venture down a different path; she founded She Bee's Accessories three years ago. Utilizing semi-precious stones and crystals, Dalton designs and creates custom women's accessories, including an Autism Awareness Necklace which she sells in an effort to raise money for autism charities. Originally selling her line at various fundraising boutiques, She Bee's is now doing in-home boutique parties and will soon be found on the web.

Sona Collections

Remember when a trip on the 405 was a must-do to get your hands on designer labels like Gucci, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Bally and Moschino? That was before the ever-contemporary Sona Collections hit Town Center Drive. The shop, which stocks the finest in handbags, sunglasses and accessories, is a virtual smorgasbord of luxurious delights. But that doesn't mean they're out of our reach. The style of Prada bag that Meryl sports in "The Devil Wears Prada?" It's here, for 30 percent off. And there's always the ever-stylish and oh-so-incredibly-affordable Swarovski jewelry line, with many pieces starting around $20. And unlike online finds, Sona's merchandise is all 100 percent authentic - guaranteed.

J. David's Custom Clothiers
A Finer Men's Store

This eponymous men's clothing shop (yes, there is a David, and he's been dressing locals for over a quarter century) boasts a celebrity clientele and lines like Emenegildo Zegna, Lord Piana, Nat Nast and Serica - but don't let that intimidate you. This no-pressure destination is just as accessible to denim wearers as it is to the gents who flock to the store for custom-made suits that start at nearly a grand. And while the service alone is reason enough to check out the place (free alterations for life!), we suggest giving their custom shirts a try. Gorgeous material and a perfect fit can be yours for $125.

CSTMIZ ur space. urself.

CSTMIZ (pronounced "customize") was made for the busy multi-faceted woman in all of us. You know, the ones who do yoga, make jewelry, keep a well-appointed home, plan parties for friends and attend the occasional fancy shin-dig. If your daily planner has so much ink in it that your chiropractor insists it be rolled instead of carried, you'll especially appreciate the offerings of this entirely unique boutique. From silk bolero jackets and chic overcoats to earthy yoga wear like Urban Yoga, handmade jewelry and soft home furnishing items, it's all here. And if it's not - make it yourself. There's even a DIY design center for accessory making and parties.

Coko pour la femme

You don't have to speak French to know that Coko pour la femme translates to "designer fashions at a great price." Ok, maybe that might be a bit off target, but what's right on the money is Coko's selection of Tadashi, Parasuco (snag these "it" jeans for $110), Bejeweled, Ravi and Belts by Simon. From come-hither casual to classic black tie and the shoes, jewels and handbags for every look in between, it's all here. Grab a washable suede jogging suit for $80, or splurge on the sexiest thing you'll ever wrap around your waist (no, not George Clooney's arms, although if you can arrange that, please call us...): a Swarovski crystal-studded leather Belt by Simon. They start at $155.

Impressions Jewelry & More

Frederic Duclos fine jewelry? Karibou sterling silver? Betsey Johnson handbags? Marah Lago Larimar stones? Woodwick candles? Dorothy, you're not in Kansas anymore (or in one of those indistinguishable mall stores). You've landed in Girly Heaven. Population: you (and tons of dedicated repeat customers, jewelry, belts, wallets, purses, candles, gifts and more in every price range to keep you company). Enchant yourself further by experiencing a Woodwick candle (it literally has a wick made of wood that "sizzles" as it infuses the room with lots of luxe scent) for less than $20 - they're available here in 32 different varieties.

Margo

Women searching for classic clothing with an edge have been going to Margo for years. Why? It might be because of the uber-talented fashion experts who coordinate completely personalized ensembles for their clients. Or maybe it's the coveted list of labels like Zelda, Alberto Makali, Oui, Tadashi and Sue Wong. Possibly it's the huge selection, ranging from weekend to evening wear, the on-site tailors or the new must-have Hippie Ink tees and tanks encrusted with crystals. But the biggest reason is probably that the boutique, like its namesake owner, represents timeless good taste.

fresh

Adina. Godenbleu. Lockheart. Hobo. Tylie Malibu. Mododoc. Hard Tail. Ella Moss. Velvet. Nicole Miller. Diane Von Furstenberg. No, it's not the guest list at a star-studded Hollywood party - it's the "it" designer lineup at fresh. One of Santa Clarita's newest additions, this shop has already made a big name for itself, much due to its incredible selection of sizes (from 0 to 16). Exclusive offerings like the Lockheart Italian leather bags, combined with affordable selections like Adina Jewelry (starts at $53) and sweats and tees by Mododoc (starts at $27.50) make this stop a classically hip spot for every kind of woman. Super-helpful staff and a great location, right next to Egg Plantation in the yellow Victorian buildings, cinch the deal.

Cobblestone Cottage

Everything. That's what you'll find in the seemingly ever-expanding Cobblestone Cottage. Located in the Target shopping center, this beacon of Brighton shines brightly for well-accessorized women (and their homes). Kathy and staff know their stuff, easily advising on Brighton's handmade Italian footwear, Vera Bradley fabric bags and Pandora bracelets (you know, those adorable add-a-bead custom pieces), sometimes simultaneously. Where else can you get a charm shaped like a VW Bug, fresh coffee, tees topped with rhinestones, home decor, fragrance and luggage? The warm ambience only adds to the eclectically-pleasing selection.

You'll also find coveted designer pieces from Hearts On Fire, Hidalgo and Kirk Kara. Dress'r Drawers

Remember how irresistibly fun shopping used to be? The same chore-less feeling is captured in the incredibly-wearable and stupendously extensive selection of casuals, denim, shoes, bags and jewels at Dress'r Drawers. Racks full of Bejeweled, Free People, 2 B FREE, Tarina Tarantino and Blue Tattoo reside here; we also like Bobi - a great cotton line of cutesy tanks, tees, leggings and dresses that start at $22. And if you're looking for everyone's favorite arm accessory, Tylie Malibu's leather and suede bags featuring diamond and flower Swarovski crystal straps are here starting at $260. Get that one and you're more than half way to making it to the 500 Club, the shop's free program that rewards clients with a $50 gift certificate for every accumulated $500 in regular purchases.

Naughty But Nice Lingerie

If it was possible for a shop to bat its eyelashes and wink, this flirty boutique unassumingly perched on Soledad Canyon would top that feat with a playful kick of its Penthouse leopard-print high-heels. Of course women of all ages stop in for their provocative selection of bras, panties, garters, hosiery, shoes, chemises, dancer wear, club wear, leather, pants, tops and lotions, but there's another reason (actually, two, if you want to be specific) that makes Naughty But Nice a must for the estrogen crowd: professional bra fittings. Now that's a weight off our chest!

Island Appeal

The aloha spirit is alive and well in the SCV. It may still be winter, but inside Island Appeal it's all about sand, sun and drinks topped with little umbrellas. This is the place to go if you need a bikini in February (swimwear's sold year-round), relaxed (and highly collectable) Tommy Bahama embroidered silk camp shirts in sizes up to 4X, resort wear and accessories. But warm weather isn't a prerequisite for this stop; pop in for an awe-inspiring selection of luxurious zip-front and pullover sweaters for women in every shade of the rainbow (go now and they're 50 percent off). Club Tiki Classics, Fee'fe, Kahala and Reyn Spooner lines are also well represented in this vacation destination located within our borders.
