BEFORE

Christine Harper of Canyon Country is a mother of two who doesn't have a whole lot of time to spend getting glamorous, so we decided to give her a look that was simple to maintain and could be easily dressed-up or dressed-down depending on the circumstances. What resulted was a look that can be created every day.

The Hair

Amy Murchinson of Beyond the Fringe in Newhall (259-1982) created a flattering A-line bob for Christine, incorporating layers throughout the back for added fullness. Using L'Oreal Professional Color, Amy added highlights to accentuate Christine's naturally blonde hair. The lift in color increased the overall brightness, while the lowlights Amy added created warmth and depth to Christine's overall look.

Following her cut and color, Christine was given a L'Oreal Power Dose deep-conditioning, pure protein treatment to give the hair strength and added shine. Amy suggests that this treatment be applied every five to six weeks for best results. Lastly, Christine was given L'Oreal Professional Shampoo and Conditioner to maintain her healthy locks between services.

The Skin

Lucky girl. Christine was blessed with beautiful, even-textured skin and a naturally flattering brow shape, but there was still room for improvement. Linda O'Lear of Senna Cosmetics in Valencia (255-0660) used the threading technique to clean-up and shape Christine's brows, and then prepped her skin with Senna's gentle but effective toner.

AFTER

The Makeup

After creating a smooth base with eye-cream and moisturizer, Linda applied a light foundation, then concealer and powder. Once Christine's skin was flawless, a pinky-peach blush was applied that made her seem to glow from within. Using colors inspired from nature, Linda then used Senna's water color cake liner in dark-brown to make Christine's eyes "pop," tamed her bows with a golden-brown brow fix, and then applied one coat of mascara. Finally, a touch of shiny pink lip gloss was dabbed on to further brighten Christine's face without making her look over-done.

The Results

"I feel like a brand-new woman," says Christine. "I couldn't have made such a change without everyone's help. I already have made follow-up appointments with Beyond the Fringe and Senna. Thank you so much!"
