Makeup for the Mature Bride
To ensure that the mature bride's makeup lasts through her wedding day, choose a silicone-based primer prior to applying foundation. This will help set your makeup and help it go on smoothly. Silicone gives your skin a smooth, even look and helps diminish fine lines. Laura Mercier makes a great line of foundation primers.

Use a tinted moisturizer or a hydrating liquid foundation for light to moderate coverage. Steer clear of thick formulas that will enhance fine lines and make you look "cakey." To conceal red veins, use a yellow based concealer like Laura Mercier's Secret Camouflage.

Use a loose powder to set your makeup and to combat shine. For blush, apply on the apples of your cheeks and blend slightly upwards. Blushes with a peach or pink undertone reduce redness in the cheeks and add a glow.

Prior to putting on eye shadow, use an eye primer. For eyeshadows, use soft, light colors to open and brighten your eyes. Keep your eyeliner very close to the lash line and opt for powder or a pencil. Soft kohl pencils blend easily and create a more natural, soft look. Waterproof black mascara that will add volume and lengthen your lashes is a must. If you want to enhance the look of your lashes, use individual false eyelashes in lieu of strips.

For lips, prime them with a moisturizing lip balm, then line them with a natural lip pencil. A basic rule of thumb is that the thinner your lip, the lighter the lip color. Dark colors thin out already thin lips. Soft colors like pinks and nudes give the illusion of plumper lips and add definition. Stay away from ultra-shiny lip glosses; they will give the appearance of thin lips, too!

Meet Romantic Journeys
Barbara Oliver of Romantic Journeys has a philosophy that no online booking site can match: "A journey shared - a memory forever." She takes her custom-designed honeymoon and romantic trips very seriously. "I pay attention to the 'story arc' of the experience," she shares. "Depending on location, I may start on a high note, but also take into consideration that they are coming off of one of the most stressful things they have shared as a couple. I make sure it is not overly ambitious by also building in time to recuperate along the way. I always make sure we end on a high note, too, as that final memory will be an enduring one. Once I have that custom itinerary planned, I then go and find the best pricing from my awesome suppliers to ensure that my couples are getting the best value available anywhere." 206-1409

Today's Bewildered Bride
You are smart, savvy and you know what you want. But do you really?

Today's brides are overwhelmed with pictures on Pinterest, Instagram, blogs and wedding websites. It's easy to think that you know exactly what you want for your wedding. But think about this: Based on the photo of your "dream cake," how good did it taste? Based only on a blog entry, how do you know that your "favorite" photographer has the right personality that will connect with you and your fiance? Can you tell how he or she will capture your distinct personality, not the personalities of random internet people you've never met? How will your DJ or MC entertain in a way that is consistent with who you are without meeting them in person? It's not your fault if you don't like the answers to these questions. You have been bombarded with so much! There is a solution. Attending a bridal show is one of the few opportunities where you can meet several vendors in each category and compare not just the price but the personality, artistry and anything else that truly matters to you. While at the bridal show, ask questions that will help you decide what theme, color or style will work best for you at your venue.

On Sunday, September 29 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia, you have an opportunity not just to see but to experience every detail of your wedding at The Bellisima Bride Bridal Show.
