With his recent office move from Glendale to Valencia, Morgan Stanley Senior Vice President Michael Berger has experienced a personal and professional homecoming.

Berger began his investment career 35 years ago working for EF Hutton, which then had offices located in the Newhall Land building on Valencia Boulevard. When the company was acquired, he transitioned to an office in Glendale and he had been commuting there since 1988.

That all changed recently when Berger returned to Valencia to work from Morgan Stanley's offices on Town Center Drive.

"I'm so excited to be working again in Santa Clarita. This valley has been my home for 31 years, so it's an incredible blessing to both live here and work here," Berger said.

Although he commuted out of Santa Clarita for more than 27 years, the Newhall resident made it a priority to serve the community. Berger is a past president of the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce and served three terms on the City of Santa Clarita Planning Commission. A member and past president of the SCV Rotary Club, he currently serves on the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children's Cancer board of directors and is president-elect of the SCV Child and Family Center.

Berger has also dedicated considerable support to College of the Canyons, where he was a student before beginning his professional career. He is in his third term on the Santa Clarita Community College District Board of Trustees, which oversees the college. Previously, he was on the COC Foundation Board of Directors for 20 years and received the organization's Silver Spur Award for Community Service in 2000.

Berger was also named Santa Clarita Valley Man of the Year in 2006. "Giving back has always been a priority for me," he said. "This community is where I launched my professional career and it's where my wife and I have made our home, so I'm honored to do what I can for a place that has meant so much to me. I'm thankful my career has come full circle and brought me back to Santa Clarita where I can be closer to clients and continue to give back."
