When the Heartbreaking Happens,
Choose Compassion & Experience to Help
It's a heartbreaking fact of life: Thousands of children are injured or even killed every day in the US because of the careless, negligent actions of others. Whether it's from a defective car seat, an irresponsible physician or a untrustworthy care provider, anyone who hurts a child should be held accountable for their actions.
When a child is injured, not only do they suffer physical injuries that can last a lifetime, but they often are damaged emotionally, as well. The responsible party deserves to pay for their mistake. Some reasons to seek a personal injury or wrongful death suit include abuse, car-accident injuries, medical malpractice, SIDS, school-bus accidents, dangerous products, pedestrian injuries, improper supervision leading to injury and more.
When you choose The Law Offices of Gerald L. Marcus to represent your case, you can rest assured knowing you have compassionate, experienced and dedicated attorneys fighting on your child's behalf. 296-2992

Auto Dealer Association Donates to College
Cheri Fleming, dealer/principal of Valencia Acura and board member for the Greater Los Angeles New Car Dealer Association (GLANCDA), presented a $20,000 donation to College of the Canyons from the Association in support of the college's automotive technology program. The funds will allow the program to purchase the equipment, curriculum materials and supplies required to expand hybrid vehicle training. The college's automotive technology program is designed to prepare students with the entry-level skills needed for an automotive technician position in a variety of settings including dealerships and independent automotive repair facilities, as well as with county or federal agencies.
The program offers certificate and degree pathways that range from a semester to two years in length, allowing students to get into the workforce quickly by providing in-depth training with extensive hands-on experiences in all nine Automotive Service Excellence certification programs and State of California Smog Tech Training.
With roots that trace back to the early 1900s, GLANCDA provides educational and philanthropic benefits to new car dealer members and the local region. Valencia Acura is proud to be a member and help facilitate a donation to such a worthy cause.

What Should be on your Wildfire Preparedness Checklist
In the last month, we've had no shortage of thankfully-small wildfires pop up from one corner of the valley to the other. Our always-ready emergency professionals made quick work of them - but the flames were fast reminders that in Santa Clarita, it's always fire season. If you're already prepared, double check your supplies. If you're not - start with the list below.
The best way to protect your home from a wildfire is to remove or reduce the potential fuel within a 30-feet safety zone around your home. If you live in a high-risk area, increase the safety zone to 100 feet. That means removing vines from the exterior of your home and possibly moving shrubs or other landscaping away from house walls. Consider removing highly-flammable low-branched trees, such as evergreens, eucalyptus and juniper and for remaining trees, remove limbs that are within 15 feet of the ground.
Clearance is important; stacked wood, for example, should be moved to the outside of the safety zone.
Always promptly clean up tree debris like leaves, pine needles and cones, paying special attention to clearing debris found under decks and overhangs. Don't forget to regularly clear out gutters, especially this time of year, when leaves fall and build up.
Preparation can only go so far, which is why it's also essential that you maintain a home inventory list of personal property and review it yearly with an experienced local insurance agent who can ensure you're properly insured with the right amount of coverage to cover personal losses if the worst happens. While you're there, you'll also want to review the dwelling coverage for your home, should you incur a loss.
