New Year's Estate Planning Resolutions
With the new year, many people think of things they would like to accomplish during the next 12 months. While many focus on health and fitness, estate planning goals are essential, too!
Estate planning may not be the most exciting thing to think about but it is crucial to securing your future and protecting your loved ones.
If you do not have an estate plan, the first step is to discuss your situation with an estate planning attorney. Their job is to help you craft the right plan for you, even if you don't think you have much to protect.
If you already have an estate plan, the new year is a great time to review and update it. Life and laws can change quickly but your plan won't change automatically. Consider any significant life events for yourself and your family that can impact your estate plan - like births, deaths, marriages, divorce, major moves, or anything else that would change how you want your estate plan to function.
Whether it is a new or existing estate plan, the new year is a good time to discuss your plan with the important people in your plan. Make sure they know their role in carrying out your plan and can get a hold of the documents when needed. This might also be a good time to address any potential conflicts with other individuals that need to be addressed in your plan.

Losing Insurance Coverage in California?
Have you found yourself scrambling for insurance coverage? If your answer is yes, you're not alone. Many insurance providers have reduced the number of properties they insure in our state, arguing that catastrophes like wild fires - along with other challenges - have made costs soar.
That doesn't help the millions of homeowners in Southern California and beyond who need homeowners insurance not just for peace of mind - but because its usually required by their mortgage lender.
If your insurance coverage has been cancelled - or has climbed dramatically in cost - it's time to see what else is out there. The insurance experts at the family-owned and operated Nick Rose Insurance can help you find the perfect policy - for a price that makes sense.

2025 Small Business Marketing Resolutions
by Therese Edwards
1. It's likely that your messaging is messy. 2025 is the year you resolve to audit all your messaging channels (social media, newsletters, reputation management site bios, etc.) and get them in sync with your current, most compelling value propositions.
2. Get what you're paying for in '25. Are you maximizing your client relationship management software? Probably not. Call customer service and ask them how to optimize use. Do the same for any marketing you pay for - your sales reps should be able to help you refine your ad messaging, take advantage of complimentary services you're not yet using, etc.
3. Optimize what you get for free. Make sure your free Google, Yelp and Facebook profiles are delivering quality, no-cost SEO support to your business.
4. Stop non-strategically throwing money at marketing and then getting frustrated that "it doesn't work." In 2025, make a choice: either learn the complicated ins and outs of marketing done right or hire someone who already has the knowledge and capacity to implement.
