Grocery Shop for Carousel Ranch

On Wednesday, September 21, Whole Foods Market will donate 5 percent of their daily gross totals to the equestrian therapy organization, Carousel Ranch. The Ranch, which is currently searching for a permanent home, provides services to mentally and physically disabled children. Please consider doing some major grocery shopping at Whole Foods Market in Valencia on September 21!

Santa Clarita Valley's Amazing Race - October 8

In this exciting race throughout more than 50 possible retail establishments in the Valencia Town Center, SCV Amazing Race contestants will try to outperform each other in a battle of intellect and strategy. Teams of five local teens will have to work together to stay ahead of the competition to win the race.

The pace is fast and those who fail to keep up will be left behind as the mad dash begins to complete all ten challenging tasks correctly in the shortest possible amount of time. Winners of the race will receive an array of prizes and congratulations as they sprint to the finish line.

Local community members and businesses are invited to participate in the following ways: sponsorship opportunities ranging from $100 to $15,000, volunteers for a variety of positions and in kind donations for door prizes, raffle items, goodie bags, etc.

The Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project has a vision to create a world in which no child will face depression, despair or difficulty alone. Their innovative, community-based organization assists over 14,000 area high school students. Call 250-5355 for more information.

Teen Scene Unplugged: Connect, Communicate & Cope During the Teenage Years

On September 21, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Valencia, community members are invited to discuss teen issues. This program will address parent-teen communication as it relates to tough teen issues. Tune-in to the needs of young people and learn life strategies that work. Leave with plenty of expert advice and concrete suggestions you can use right away. Hosted by the City of Santa Clarita and Blue Ribbon Task Force, this is a must-attend event for parents and their teenagers, and interested community members. Free and open to the public.
