•  Nest: Healing Art Studio - Nest is a free program, for teens and adults, consisting of an an hour of mindful, judgement-free art making. Mindfulness practices, both in meditation and in art, can help our ability to regulate our feelings, decrease stress, and focus our attention. No art expertise needed. A project suggestion will be given, but not required. Developed under the direction of Emily Skelton, LMFT, Registered Art Therapist. Every first Sunday of the month.

•  Canyon Theatre Guild presents 'West Side Story' - Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City as two young, idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the "American" Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.

Monday, January 20

•  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Unity Walk - held every year at Central Park, 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which falls on Monday, January 20, this year. Residents are invited to join members of the City Council at 8am as well as powerful guest speakers who will touch upon the core values of Dr. King. This year's theme is "Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence365," honoring his life and impact. This event is a perfect way to bring the community together and celebrate the life of a man who was dedicated to human rights, equality and nonviolence. The impact of Dr. King's legacy will live on for generations to come, inspiring our youth to seek out love and unity, instead of violence. Following the opening comments, attendees will walk alongside each other, offering an opportunity to spark conversation and step forward as a united front. This event is free to the public and no advance registration is required.

•  Escape Theatre presents Annie - With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts. In an ongoing quest to track-down her parents, Annie foils the maniacal orphanage caretaker Miss Hannigan and finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. Join us at the depths of the great depression in 1930's New York and discover why millions of people think this musical is a big ray of sunshine. Classic songs include "Maybe", "It's a Hard Knock Life" and "Tomorrow".
