Why You should Go to "Heart of the West"
on August 29

"Carousel Ranch is our community's treasure - a place where special needs children experience some of their GREATEST ACHIEVEMENTS through equestrian therapy. For many, the favorite part of the annual Heart of the West Dinner and Auction is the program demonstration, which provides a way for all of us to experience the sense of accomplishment and sheer joy of our riders first-hand and opens our hearts to Carousel's world of possibilities,"
Marianne Cederlind, senior vice president & chief business banking officer at Mission Valley Bank & president of Carousel Ranch's Board of Directors
The Carousel Ranch Story

Carousel Ranch is a community treasure that is changing lives. For anyone not familiar, this nonprofit organization has provided developmental equestrian therapy for disabled children for nearly two decades.

To feel the impact, imagine a teenage girl confined to a wheelchair being lifted onto the back of a horse and knowing what it feels like to walk for the first time in her life. Or watching a young boy with limited use of his right arm and leg balance atop his favorite mare.

For every child served by the program there are powerful stories to tell. Meet Jalen, a newcomer to the Carousel Ranch family. This little fellow was born missing the nerve bundle that connects the left and right hemispheres of his brain. Now at the tender age of 3, Jalen rides at Carousel Ranch and stood on a horse's back on his first visit. He started walking in circles and backward later at home, tasks he never achieved before.

We hope readers share our passion for the work of Carousel Ranch and join us in offering support for their annual fundraiser, Heart of the West, on August 29.
