Event Highlights most Common & Underdiagnosed Obstetrical Complication
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, postpartum depression is the most common, yet most under-diagnosed, obstetrical complication in the country. Untreated disorders impact family stability and the development of infants and children.

To put a spotlight on its programs promoting the critical need for the proper screening, diagnosis and treatment of maternal mental health disorders like postpartum depression, 2020 Mom will hold its second-annual Farm to Table charity event the evening of May 21 at the Valencia Country Club.

This year the event will include a boutique auction, as well as farm-fresh organic Mexican cuisine. Guests will be greeted with margaritas and Latin music and enjoy their meal on corn-and-lime-decorated sprawling picnic tables placed under globe lights and draped Mexican party flags. There are more ways you can help. Because of a link between a diaper-need and postpartum depression, 2020 Mom is hosting several diaper drives throughout SCV during the first two weeks of May. Diapers will be distributed at the Farm to Table Dinner to Single Mother's Outreach and the L.A. Baby Buggy, both of which serve mothers in need.

The mission of Valencia-based non-profit 2020 Mom is to close gaps in maternal mental health through collaboration, education and advocacy. Founded in 2011, 2020 Mom programs include working locally in SCV to shed light on these disorders, supporting hospitals and insurance companies to develop programs, hosting the National Coalition for Maternal Mental Health, which unites members from national organizations devoted to addressing maternal mental health, and the state's Task Force on the Status of Maternal Mental Health. www.2020mom.org
