River Oaks Shopping Center Hosts Holiday Snowflake Festival to Benefit Carousel Ranch
On Sunday, December 4 from 1pm to 4pm, head over to River Oaks Shopping Center in Valencia (The home of Cobblestone Cottage, Target and other faves!) to take part in an entirely-free event that benefits Carousel Ranch's equestrian therapy program. Treat the kids to an afternoon of sledding and playing in fresh snow, cookie decorating, letter writing to Santa and more. A balloon artist, festive strolling characters, a professional photographer gifting families with free pictures with Santa (One per family.), and even fresh-made doughnut makers will be there to add to the festive day!
Visiting Angels Soup Drive for Seniors
Provides Nutritious Meals when Money's Tight
There are many seniors in Santa Clarita who are barely able to make ends meet, then something unexpected happens where they need extra money that month. Their utility bills are higher. They may have a new medication that insurance doesn't cover. Now they must choose to heat their home, buy the medication or buy food. The choice usually is... not to buy food. Community donations help to alleviate this stressor for our most at-risk seniors. Through the Senior Center, seniors in need can be discretely given food until their next Social Security check arrives. The people receiving this kind of help are extremely grateful. The Senior Center is also very thankful for the generous donations that are given from the community.
This year, Visiting Angels will again run their annual soup drive. This vital event provides easy to prepare, nutritious meals to those in our community who need them the most. Donations of canned and packaged soup will be accepted during the entire month of December at the company office located at 25115 Avenue Stanford, Suite A101. You can drop in during the office hours of Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm or call to arrange pickup of larger donations at your home or office. 263-2273

Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley Story
It's the most wonderful time of the year and now is the perfect time to catch the holiday spirit with the Santa Clarita Valley Boys & Girls Club's Festival of Trees November 22 to 27 at the Santa Clarita Activities Center on Centre Pointe Drive. There's no greater path for a child to take than the right one. For nearly 2,400 local young people ages 7 to 17, that path begins at the Santa Clarita Valley Boys & Girls Club, a place where they learn and grow. With two locations, the club provides tutoring and homework help, daily programming geared toward academics, healthy lifestyles, character and leadership development, along with a variety of art and technology programs. Through your generosity, the Boys & Girls Club will continue to build a brighter future for the children of the Santa Clarita Valley. We look forward to seeing the community at the Festival of Trees!
