Bras for a Cause Supports Local Cancer Patients
Soroptimist International of Valencia is proud to announce their upcoming 18th-annual Bras for a Cause event, held on Saturday October 23. The beloved SIV charity event supports local Santa Clarita Valley women who are fighting breast cancer. Survivors and supporters model custom-designed bras that are paired with amazing gift baskets and speakers provide hope through compelling stories.
It's a fun event that benefits cancer patients directly, as well as the Shiela R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center at Henry Mayo Hospital and Circle of Hope.
Who Are Soroptimists?
Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women to be their best.
Soroptimist was formed in 1921 in Oakland, California, at a time when women were not permitted to join service organizations. The name, loosely translated from the Latin, means "best for women." Today, they have about 80,000 members and supporters in countries across North America, Latin America and the Pacific Rim. They are one of five federations that make up Soroptimist International,
which has clubs in more than 30 countries throughout the world. They are dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through:
Gender equality
Women and girls are free from discrimination.
Empowerment
Women and girls are free to act in their own best interest.
Education
