What's new at the Canyon Country Community Center this month?Our community is comprised of people from many different backgrounds and cultures. To celebrate our diversity, residents should be on the lookout for an exciting new event series debuting this April at the Canyon Country Community Center. From April through September, residents can enjoy the new event series "Celebrate" the first Friday of every month from 6pm to 9pm. The monthly event will highlight cultures, customs and culinary wonders from around the world. On April 1, you can travel to the Polynesian Islands and enjoy a live performance from a captivating fire and knife dancer. The night does not end there. Kalakeke Pacific Island Dance Company will share the culture and dance of the Pacific Islands. Plus, attendees will have the chance to try delectable Hawaiian dishes from Aloha Friday's Hawaiian Food Truck. The family-friendly event will also offer lei making, tiki mask decorating, tug of war and other exhilarating activities. Residents are always looking for engaging and exciting events to attend in our city. Can you give us a sneak peek of what's to come for April?
As a father of four, I am always looking forward to attending events that my kids and I can enjoy together. One of my go-to events and a community favorite is back! SENSES Block Party celebrates the "Wild West" on April 21, beginning at 7pm. Residents can saddle up for a night out with food, music and entertainment for all Western enthusiasts. Bring your friends and family to the heart of Old Town Newhall and enjoy a night out on Main Street. The night will kick off with a live performance by the featured guest band Dirty Cello. Attendees will relish in the live five-piece string ensemble and dance the night away to the sound of the lead cellist. As always, there will be music, dancing and delicious food options to engage each of your senses throughout the event. For our 21-and-up crowd, one of our local restaurants will serve cocktails. There will also be a mechanical bull, games, local vendors and so much more to enjoy with friends and loved ones.
