The Doo Wop Project to Take the PAC Stage on October 1
Love the classic sounds of Frankie Valli, the Drifters and The Del Vikings? Ever wonder what Maroon 5 would sound like if they lived in the Doo Wop era? The Doo Wop Project will bring a new generation of classic sounds to the Santa Clarita Performing Arts (PAC) stage on Saturday, October 1. The Doo Wop Project begins at the beginning: tracing the evolution of Doo Wop from the classic sound of five guys singing harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. In their epic shows, The Doo Wop Project takes audiences on a journey featuring foundational tunes from the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos through the vocal artistry of Smokey Robinson, The Temptations and The Four Seasons all the way to DooWopified versions of modern hits from Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz, Maroon 5 and Sam Smith. Featuring stars from the Broadway hits "Jersey Boys, Motown: The Musical" and "A Bronx Tale, The Doo Wop Project brings unparalleled authenticity of sound and vocal excellence to recreate - and in some cases entirely reimagines - the greatest music in American pop and rock history.

"Beau Jest" through October 29
A Jewish woman is fed up with her interfering mother disapproving of her boyfriend and trying to match-make her with other men. She pretends to break up with him, then makes up a perfect new relationship with a man who meets her parents' expectations - but when they insist on meeting him, she has to hire an actor to play the part.
"Southern Fried Funeral" through October 30
Dewey Frye is dead and the rest of his family is left to pick up the pieces - that is, if they don't kill each other first. Not only does matriarch Dorothy have to contend with sudden widowhood, but she's also faced with church-committee harpy Ozella Meeks sticking her nose in the family business, Dewey's snake-in-the-grass brother making a grab for her house and two grown daughters reliving their childhood rivalry. Funerals bring out the worst, the best and the funniest in people, and the Fryes are no exception.
