Overheard

At the grand opening of All Corked Up, SCV Chamber of Commerce Chairman Ed Masterson was overheard complaining that he didn't look good in pictures: "I look at myself and think, 'I really look better than that in person... I hope!'" Inside SCV decided to test his theory by snapping an impromptu pic of Ed and Pam Ingram. Our staffers agree - the jovial Masterson photographs well. It's just that being in print adds 10 pounds.

Observed

Does anyone else find it odd that Coucilman Bob Kellar's private wine locker at All Corked Up contains low-brow boxed beverages and other less-than-classy selections? Not that we'd turn down Boone's Farm if the occasion called for it, but we were a tad surprised to associate such base choices with the sophisticated public servant. Alas, it all started making sense when the name Marty Kovacs was mentioned; seems that Bob's friend and co-worker enjoys a good practical joke now and then.

Jeanna Crawford was honored to mentor and be the guest of Amanda Hardy, Lisa Marie Thomas, Marlise Soto, Tori Raymond (not pictured) and Amanda Allegra (not pictured) at Saugus High's graduation. In other news, we apologize for not getting a picture of Saugus's streaker; we were too busy gawking.


The kick-off party for the Boys and Girls Club Auction (held in the beautiful home of Cheri and Don Fleming) brought out over 100 supporters of the club, including B & G staffer Jim Ventress, Lisa Burke and Karl McCarthy.


The busy Congressman Howard "Buck" McKeon made it a priority to be in town for the grand opening of the SCV Chamber of Commerce's new location in the Valencia Industrial Center.
