Domestic violence is never funny. However, sometimes what people chose to wear at the
Domestic Violence Center's second annual golf tournament was.
Ken Striplin's (aka the City's "Ken Numero Dos") well-toned gams finding their ends stuck into a pair of Florsheim dress shoes.
Councilman Frank Ferry sporting USC gang colors (would the
Blue Ribbon Task Force approve?). Ken Numero Uno (aka "
Ken Pulskamp," who served as the event's honorary co-chair with
Mayor Bob Kellar) wearing what appears to be Frank's hand-me-down striped shirt.
Yes, there's no better place than a golf tournament to witness bad clothes happening to really good people. (Except for any event that requires grown men and women to don costumes better reserved for high school performances of "The Taming of the Shrew"; I'm lookin' at you,
VIA.)

There were also moments of joy. Take, for example, DVC board member
Joe Powell's cigar-totin', take-no-prisoners pose with QVC Partners
Adrian Simon. If only their "Whatchu lookin' at" bad-boy glares were paired with a more "legit" ride.
Robinson Ranch, my grandma's on line one. She wants her golf cart back! Get
Street Shock on the phone. Personally, I think every course should have at least one cart with a suspension lift, 52-inch tires and nitrous oxide to boot - for situations just like this.
Also in attendance were board of directors member
Dr. John Fisher, former board vice president
Dean Anderson, and Board President
Jorja Harris.
