Matt Booth, Manya Nazarian, Rikki Rocket & Harut Nazarian |
Rock stars and trend-setting jewelry are a notoriously inseparable combination (thankfully, designer adornments are a habit that rarely requires a stay in rehab), and so it comes as no surprise that
Rikki Rocket, the drummer for
Poison, was on hand for the
Room 101 trunk show at
Bella Jewelers (owned by locals
Manya and
Harut Nazarian). The edgy silver pieces are the creations of
Matt Booth, who was inspired by his trips to the Far East as a US Marine (oh, and as a regular on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Hence the rock star connection...).
Dave & Cory Peterson |
Hundreds of SCVians played the role of rock star last month, at least in the eyes of the kids who frequent the
Boys & Girls Club. Droves of big-hearted (if not big-haired) folk rained upon the
Mann Biomedical Park for the org's annual auction, including
Cory and
Dave Peterson of
Peterson Printing,
Casey and
Kelly Kirkman of Affordable Quality Moving & Storage and
Brian Whiteley and
Karen Maleck Whiteley of
Balance Point Spa.

Note to parents in waiting: You might want to consider the name Dianne (yes, two "n's") for your future progeny. Per my super-scientific calculations, your offspring would have a 20 percent chance of doing something fabulous enough to get the
Betty Ferguson Foundation to bestow the title of
Woman of Honor on their (surely deserving) heads.
Dianne Crawford, owner of
Pink Ribbon Gifts, took the title some years back and now College of the Canyons head honcho,
Dr. Dianne Van Hook, will be the 10th local honored by the organization on September 19 at the
Hyatt Regency Valencia. Coincidence? Not likely. Call 702-8712 for reservations.
