There are just some things you grow to count on in the movin' and shakin' world of Santa Clarita. Dessert in the Hyatt ballroom will always taste like cheesecake, even if it's called Peach Flan Fondue. Cheri and Don Fleming will always be the first to leave an event so that Don can get his beauty sleep. And Shelley Hann's hair will always be longer than Bob Hudson's bar tab. Except that Hann turned our world of truisms upside down on New Year's Eve at Tournament Players Club when she arrived without her signature uber-long strands. Thankfully she kept her mile-long manicure in place; otherwise we'd be found rocking ourselves to sleep in a padded cell. We can only take so much change, people. Doesn't she look great with her new tresses? Our theory is that she wanted a fresh look to coincide with her new business venture. Hann and Patti Fincher recently re-opened Paper Mulberry.

The Canyon High boys aren't the only ones to walk (or limp) away with a CIF state championship this year. Hart's Varsity Cheer Squad took first place in California. The Indians could really use a boost - and we're not talking in the literal sense - when it comes to much needed operating funds. Help 'em out by calling 661-212-2193.

Dani Ibarra, SCV's yoga instructor with a cult following The Beatles could envy, has landed downward-dog style at Hot Yoga Valencia. Seems the promise of destination retreats to Ojai, Hawaii and Costa Rica was too much for the sun-saluter to resist.
