The Santa Clarita Symphony is a group of 75 professional musicians, many of whom live locally and perform with nationally recognized orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Led by maestro and music director Robert E. Lawson, the Symphony's goal is to provide a world-class orchestral experience that will enrich lives.
The Santa Clarita Symphony is committed to bringing internationally acclaimed artists and composers, along with other exciting orchestral events, to the valley's already vibrant cultural mix. Case in point: Last November, the Santa Clarita Symphony presented "The Russian Masters," featuring internationally acclaimed pianist Robert Edward Thies. In 1995, Mr. Thies won the International Prokofiev Competition in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Beyond the orchestral events, the Santa Clarita Symphony is deeply committed to music education. That's why the board of directors created an educational outreach program designed to bring classical music into the valley's public schools. Educational programs to enchant and stimulate your children to play instruments, including in-school music ensemble performances and lecture "informances" have been developed.
Events in the works for our 2005/2006 season include a masterpiece series, a summer outdoor concert in the park, the Bon Appetit Series (exclusive dinner and chamber ensemble programs), "Quartets and Coffee" at Border's Coffee Shop, a black-tie evening of waltzing to a live orchestra, a cruise with the symphony, and a New Year's Eve gala.
