If you have kids, taste buds or both, you've very likely been to Chyll Rolled Creamery & Boba in Valencia. The hot spot that serves ice-cold desserts and more was an instant Santa Clarita hit, with lines often wrapping outside the door as SCVians clamored for Chyll's delicious rolls of creamy Thai ice-cream goodness in flavors ranging from mango with Mexican chili powder to Thai tea, Oreo, s'mores, vanilla flecked with children's cereals and more.

With a community hungry for more, owners Sarah and Shaun expanded their operations to Castaic - and their menu has grown, too. "I grew up in a large family and from an early age, I was always the cook," says Sarah. "I'm excited to share cultural flavors with my adopted hometown of Santa Clarita."

It's those flavors that fill the expansive Castaic menu - and it starts with breakfast. Ranging from a variety of traditional American favorites like buttermilk pancakes and corned beef and hash to surprises like the Banh Mi Breakfast Sandwich loaded with Chinese sausage, daikon radish and jalapenos, it's just like Chyll: diverse and fun. It's all diner delish, but what really propels their morning menu, served until 11am, is the hot beverage selection. Traditional Asian-style hot pots of tea are on the menu and feature luxe loose-leaf selections that wow - and the hot in-house Vietnamese French Press coffee options will perk you up with a smile. Open at 7am daily, Chyll Castaic has become a morning ritual for locals looking for the best start to their day.

If you roll in after 11, options still abound - and then some. Choose from Chyll's multiple menus, including Street Food, with flavors like the Spicy Polish Dog wrapped in bacon and served with sliced avocado; Tucks & Rolls, with options like Spring Rolls with shrimp and sliced pork, mint, cilantro and a creamy house peanut sauce; Chop & Toss, with the savory Avocado and Shrimp Salad topped with red bell pepper and basil; Pho soups; and Chyll Grill with entrees like Roasted Cornish Game Hen and Sizzle Thang Long Fish. These selections and dozens of others are available until 10pm Sunday through Thursday and 11pm Friday and Saturday.

No matter what you nosh on, finish with their famous rolled ice cream, which is as much a feast for the eyes as it is for the palate. You'll see your dessert hand crafted right in front of you as mix ins ranging from brownies to fresh strawberries and graham cracker crumbs speckle the homemade ice cream.
