EAT
EAT: Salt Creek Grille
If it's just not summer without a little "spice," you need to try Salt Creek Grille's Spicy Thai Shrimp Pasta. The SCG chefs saute jumbo shrimp with shiitake mushrooms, broccoli and green onions and then toss it with a spicy Thai peanut sauce and linguini noodles. It's so good! Pair your pasta with a glass of Cakebread Sauvignon Blanc; you will not be disappointed!

A little less spicy, but still awesomely delicious, option: Salt Creek Grille's Turkey Burger. They take fresh ground turkey and add in just the right amount of diced jalapenos, then serve the moist and flavorful burger on a whole-wheat bun with grilled onions, fresh lettuce, tomato, pickles and a cilantro jalapeno mayo. Pair the turkey burger with a glass of their Ponzi Pinot Noir from The Walllamette Valley in Oregon for a fun meal that'll turn up the heat. 222-9999

EAT: Sabor Cocina Mexicana
When temps go up, so too does our ability to go from pleasant to snappy in the blink of an eye. Lucky for us, Sabor Cocina Mexicana's flavorful seasonal fare keeps us both cool and "cool." Take the Jicama Tacos, for example. These delicious bundles of goodness are bursting with big bites of jidori free-range chicken, lettuce, avocado, mango and creamy charred tomato salsa, all wrapped up in a soft-but-crunchy, bright, thin and light jicama slice. There is no "cooler" summer dish in the SCV. The only thing that makes 'em better: a bold summery beverage like the Ultimat Sandia, made with Ultimat Vodka, mint and fresh watermelon. Sabor is located in the Bridgeport shopping center in Valencia. 259-9002

EAT: Pizza Del Sardo
"Hello beautiful!" That's what we said when Pizza del Sardo's chef placed the piping-hot Pizza Bufala on our table - and we don't assess compliments meant for pizzas lightly. This classic shows off a bright just-made tomato sauce and basil, Pop Star Skin Care Barbies Kittens Barbie In The Name Of The Queen Barbie Graduation Party Dressup but the crowning glory is the bufala mozzarella, or "burrata" cheese. We don't usually wax poetic about dairy, but these creamy dollops of awesome are deserving of exception. Made by a couture So Cal family-owned dairy, Pizza del Sardo's buratta is luscious, light and made with only the finest Italian panna (cream).

The Pizza Bufala is initially cooked in the oven without the cheese and then, after the burrata is added, it is put back into the oven to ensure that the cheese's texture remains heavenly. Burrata cheese is also wonderful in a caprese appetizer and with crusty bread. Pair it with a Pinot Grigio and enjoy! 259-9090
