Experience "When Love Was Born" Community Christmas Concerts
The 16 Santa Clarita Valley LDS congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invite the public to attend the Ninth-annual Community Christmas Concert, "When Love Was Born," a Biblical Christmas story of the birth and life of Jesus Christ.
Performances are Saturday, December 10 at 7pm and Sunday, December 11 at 5pm and 7:30pm at the Valencia Stake Center, located at 24443 McBean Parkway in Valencia.
The performances feature a more-than-170-voice choir, a 60-member orchestra and a narrated visual presentation under the leadership of director-composer Richard Rich. Rich, formerly a Disney animator, has directed and produced eight feature-length animated films including "The Swan Princess" and "The King and I," as well as the Living Scriptures animated films.
"We love sharing our testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ. It's our opportunity for the Spirit to bear witness of the infinite impact of the Savior's birth and to show our deepest reverence and love to our Heavenly Father for sending Him," said Rich.
Admission is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required. Doors open 30 minutes before each performance. Overflow shuttled parking is provided at Cal Arts.

Meet Lead Pastor Rev. Steven F. Peralta of Valencia United Methodist Church
What denomination is your place of worship primarily affiliated with?
The United Methodist Church.
What are your or your church's primary theological tenants?
As a Christian church, we believe that one experiences salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Faith is expressed both through personal and inward acts of belief and devotion, as well as through outward and public acts of service and love that display the love of Christ. We believe this faith is lived out in community with fellow followers of Christ. We use scripture, tradition, experience and reason to discern God's will for our lives.
What is the "feel" of your church?
We are an "open" church: we respect and welcome all people in everything we do, including communion. We exist to help people grow as followers of Christ through engaging worship, intentional Christian Education opportunities and service opportunities - locally and internationally. We are fun, full of energy and on the move.
What sets your church apart from others?
We believe that Christ's grace is offered to every person, whether they know it or not. We are a safe place for people to come and learn about Christ and grow in their faith. As a Wesleyan expression of Christianity, we do our best to tie the personal aspect of Christian faith with the exterior acts of service and mission.
When can people "get a feel" for your church?
We invite you to join us for our Advent Celebration on Sunday, November 27th, beginning at 4:30pm. The Celebration is for the whole family and includes dinner, activities for children and families, crafts, music, singing, and a faith-filled message. The evening is a great way to kick off your Advent & Christmas seasons!
When do you worship?
Our regular, Sunday morning worship services occur at 9am for the Classic Celebration with hymns and choir; at 10:30am is the Contemporary Praise service with a praise band.
