Seven Things We Love about Fathers
June, 2018 - Issue #165
Being a good father is hard work. It involves making a commitment of time, energy and enthusiasm for their children, regardless of their age. Those of us who have fathers, step-fathers and others who take on the role of father are blessed by their comforting presence and active engagement. The best of fathers have seven things in common. They:
1. Discipline their children open mindedly
2. Lead by example
3. Allow kids to make mistakes
4. Challenge their children when necessary
5. Spend quality time with them
6. Protect them from harm
7. Show them unconditional love
Kudos to the good fathers of the world! Where would we be without their loving example and influence? They make our lives and the world a better place.
Here are some "Dad Facts" you may not know. We actually are more genetically like our dads than our moms. Fathers who actively raise their kids make smarter and better behaved children. And, dads who spend more time with their kids are happier overall.
It's time to celebrate our dads on Father's Day, so get that card and tie ready!
