Summer's more Fun with Field Trips & Theme Days
For incoming kinder through sixth graders, Sunshine's summer camp is the place to be! With two field trips a week that are included in the cost of tuition, this is the camp for children who love adventures. Your kids will go to the Santa Barbara Zoo, Aquarium of the Pacific, the Natural History Museum, Medieval Times, Magic Mountain, the Aquatic Center and more! Even non-field-trip days are a blast, thanks to daily themes with six activities to keep it interesting, like art, science and inside games. Theme days include Kid City, Jurassic World, Star Wars and X Games. Sunshine also does water play every Wednesday with a giant inflatable waterslide. Summer Safety Education Program
for Pre-K, TK & Kindergarten
Safety Town is a four-hour per day, one-week summer program that introduces safety education and awareness in a fun, interactive, miniature town environment. Each day, the students learn safety lessons from California-credentialed teachers, along with visits from our local community heroes, including the Santa Clarita Sheriff Department, US Forest Service with Smokey the Bear, the California Highway Patrol, Fire Department and more! Students get to drive pedal cars, sing, make arts & crafts and play games that reinforce the safety lessons. Applications are being accepted for the July 2016 camps being held at North Park Elementary School. Fee includes a tee shirt, school bag and daily snack. Some scholarships are available for families who qualify. Youth counselors in seventh to 12th grade are needed and can earn community service hours. Swim Lessons at your Pond
Jed Heller's Swim School is celebrating their 39th season with big savings, because swimming is not just a lifetime skill - but a skill to insure a long lifetime. Camp with an Equestrian Kick
At Don-e-brook Farms, your child will learn to ride English or Western style during formal lessons and trail rides. The convenient location - just a minute from the city limit - offers daily sessions from 9am to 12pm with professional trainers and fun counselors. The Arts
School of Rock Santa Clarita hosts summer camps June 20 to 24; July 18 to 22; and August 1 to 5 - and it rocks! For kids ages 8 and up, campers will enjoy a week of rock-n-roll fun and music games, including band activities and a live performance of a classic rock song on the last day of camp! Imagine & Explore the Wonders of God's Creation
At Christ Lutheran Church, Vacation Bible School is just about the favorite week of the year! When else can you see pastors wearing bedazzled t-shirts with lights and stuffed animals on them? Everyone gets into the spirit to make sure the kids have a great time. They have hundreds of volunteers on campus during the week - making snacks, helping with parking and tending to boo-boos. Many more participate by donating everything from crackers and crayons to balls and diapers. Members of the congregation pray every day for all the participants. The kids have a blast learning about Jesus' love through songs, skits, crafts and games. It's great to see kids who came as small children graduate to become volunteers who mentor a new generations!
