From 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., "everyone's German" as families and friends nosh on authentic foods and beers, test their (log-sawing!) abilities and show off their best version of the Chicken Dance accompanied by a real Oom-Pa-Pa band (playing from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.). On Sunday, October 25, the SCV Sheriff Station will again host the Annual Haunted Jailhouse. The local Boys & Girls Club will decorate the station jail and provide a safe, fun and adventurous outing for families. Costume judging and game booths are just part of the boo-tacular event;

Run on Popular Costumes can be Scary
According to Reena Newhall, owner of A Chorus Line (253-0300), Halloween 2009's top costume picks are inspired, in part, by Hollywood blockbusters. Kids are clamoring for Star Wars costumes, Disney princess wear and G.I. Joe garb (characters like Duke and Snake Eyes will be popular!). There's certainly going to be a rush on Michael Jackson gloves for the older gent set. As for the ladies, a flirty take on storybook characters (think Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Ridinghood, Snow White...) is expected. Sharon Dallas of Naughty but Nice (222-2359) has already seen a run on risque versions of costumes like fire girls, harem girls and cops and robbers. As the season progresses she expects a big "draw" for vampires, too.
ABC Baby Furniture Announces Winner of Cutest Nursery Contest
Sherri Massey-Rozow of Canyon Country - and her 4-month-old son Ethan - impressed the judges with a warm nursery environment any baby would love. Congratulations!
