It's a "Double Whammy"
for the Mckee Family at SCSOPA

"We love Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts! Mike, the owner, signed both my husband David Mckee Jr. and my son David III. I am so proud to announce they both are now working in the entertainment industry. SCSOPA gave them the training and tools they need to be successful and gave me a new career, too. I manage their careers! SCSOPA gave me the direction that I needed to become successful at juggling/managing their careers in the entertainment business.

The Mckee family is so grateful for everyone at SCSOPA who has educated us and given us the tools we need! I can't tell you how important it is to have professionals guide you down the right road. The drive from Lancaster is so worth it. Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts is the best performing arts school! A huge thank you to Mike, Craig and Lynn, not to mention all the awesome teachers (Who are working actors!) at SCSOPA for all you do! Our lives are changed because of you."

Help your Kids Unplug and Gain Skills for a Happy Life
What do kids really want to do this summer? Explore nature, ask questions and get dirty! And what do you want them to do? Develop 21st-century skills in communication, leadership, critical thinking, problem solving, social responsibility and environmental stability, of course.

Lucky for both of you, all of the above and more can be found at Valley Trails Summer Camp. That's where SCV campers try new things, gain new skills and prepare for future success. With 200 acres to explore, as well as activities like ziplines, high-ropes challenge courses, paddle boarding, kayaking, archery, hiking, arts and crafts, pioneer living, fort play and more, kids have a blast while building confidence and keeping healthy.

Camp programs are available for kids entering grades Kindergarten through 10th. Camp tuition includes all camp activities, lunch, afternoon snacks and express transportation.

Summer camp registration is now open. Get ready to "unplug" your kids and see them shine! 257-0266

Did You Know?

• Nature makes kids nicer! Studies show that
playing in the "great outdoors" can encourage
close relationships and enhance social interactions.

• Children's stress levels fall within
minutes of seeing green spaces.

• Kids who play outside are more creative
in their play and are better at concentrating.

• As little as 60 minutes a day of unstructured
free play has been shown to be essential to
a child's mental and physical health.

Find more facts about the benefits of outdoor play for children at the National Wildlife Federation's website, www.nwf.org.
