"Paige has always been first to volunteer to sing, dance and act at school, so it came as no surprise when she said she wanted to do those things on television. We were looking for a place to take some acting classes and came across Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts. I signed up with them because the owner was so genuine and understanding and his beliefs spoke to mine. Paige started taking classes in October and by January she signed with an agent. Since then, we've been busy! She has been in two short films, three music videos and a pilot for a teen streaming show. In the latest music video, Paige was featured for the first 20 seconds! We want to thank the staff at Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts for helping to make her dreams come true; it wouldn't be possible without them." ~ Patty & Eddie

Teething Troubles? Call your Pediatric Dentist
New parents might not know that they should be scheduling their baby's first dental visit before they turn 1, but when those little teeth start breaking through gums, they'll understand why! It can be intimidating and overwhelming to know that your mini me is hurting and you don't know what to about it.
Most teething, while uncomfortable, won't be accompanied with anything unusual. Rarely, an "eruption cyst" will form; it's noted by small bubble-like swelling filled with fluid that covers an erupting tooth. Eruption cysts usually do not require treatment; the tooth will simply pop the cyst when it comes through.
Be proactive about soothing Babe. Teething babies get the most relief from cold and pressure on the area. Use chilled teething rings, cold/wet washcloths, chilled pacifiers and - when all else fails, a clean finger to lightly massage your sweetie's gums. Remember: Don't freeze anything that will go in Baby's mouth; it could burn their delicate skin if left in the mouth too long. And - numbing agents shouldn't be used on babies under age 2 unless directed by a physician.
Still feel out of your league with a fussy babe? Not sure it's teething - or something else? Reach out to your pediatric dentist for support.

Gymnastic Benefits for the Tiniest Tumblers
Gymnastics benefits all kids - and adults, too - but the bonuses for small children are especially exciting! Regular gymnastics practice is positively correlated with improved cognitive skill development; gymnastics makes both the left and right sides of the brain work in refined coordination, which also improves your child's spatial awareness.
And, while you probably haven't given much thought to the health of your child's bones when they're seniors (No, not seniors in high school. Seniors with AARP benefits!), gymnastics helps there, too, because it involves safe weight-bearing movements that help develop stronger, more dense bones.
Improved flexibility from gymnastics helps your child avoid injury no matter what activity they're doing and it trains their bodies to have excellent posture, too. All these benefits and more come from an activity that helps get the "wiggles" out and is fun!

The very Best Gift for the Seniors in your Life
The best gift for the seniors in your family's life: Time! Spend an extra hour with that aging loved one, or better yet, set aside a day! This is a great gift for all of our family and loved ones - it's always rush, rush, rush for so many of us - but it's an even better present for seniors. Loneliness, isolation and depression are incredibly common among our senior population during the holidays. It's a crazy time of the year - we get it! - but downshift, take a breath... and take a loved one to lunch. For those of us who have kids who are grown and are out on their own, it's easier to understand. It's hard to not see and spend time with them on a daily basis. It's even harder on our seniors. When you reach the end of your time here on earth, you won't say: "I wish I had spent more time at the office," but you might say, "I wish I had spent more time with the people I love." Well, here's your chance.

Sweet Ways for Kids to Give Back During the Holidays
Teach your children the joy of giving this holiday season -
and keep them busy over break while you're at it.
1. Make homemade dog treats and deliver them to a local shelter for homeless pets.
2. Challenge them to do "One Kind Surprise a Day" during their holiday break (And look forward to finding a bath drawn, just for you!).
3. Have them write holiday messages to our troops overseas; use the American Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes program to make it easy.
4. Don't eat all those baked treats yourself! Let the kids sell them instead so they can help hungry children via the Bake Sale for No Kid Hungry program you can find online.
5. Get to the spring cleaning early. Help the kiddos gather good-condition sports equipment, toys and clothes for donation.
