"My wife and I checked out quite a few schools before signing with SCSOPA. This place is truly special! The best thing about this school is they are not expecting a finished product - they have the classes to help you succeed in your career as an artist. They provide ongoing instruction in acting, singing, modeling and more. They also provide weekly opportunities to meet and read for some of the top talent agents and managers in the business. This is hands down the best school of its kind. Very happy we came here! We brought our two daughters here in September and four days after our initial meeting, our daughters had signed with a major management company and talent agent. One of our daughters has booked her first commercial. We are so thankful for the Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts and their staff."

Remind your Kids to Floss
No matter how well your child brushes their teeth, flossing is a necessary habit to form when your kids are young. Help them slip the floss between each tooth and along the gumline gently once a day to whisk away hidden bits of food and bacteria. It's a five-minute investment, one that can save you thousands in dental bills, and them in discomfort and potential infection. Call today to schedule your next appointment.

Ride into the Sunset with the New Santa Clarita Valley Equestrian Center
Santa Clarita has an aquatics center, a performing arts center... and now, equally exciting: our own equestrian center! The Santa Clarita Valley Equestrian Center, located just seconds up San Franciscito Road, is an expansive, community-oriented place for all things "horse."
Celebrating the history of horse country in the SCV, this "come as you are" place invites everyone, of every age and experience level, to leave their worries behind and connect to what really matters - on the back of a horse.
Owners Scott and Kelly Pointer and their children have built a dream on a hill. Featuring boarding, a massive selection of lessons, trail rides, roping, special events, parties and filming opportunities, Santa Clarita Valley Equestrian Center has something for everyone.
"We wanted to create a space where the joys of an equestrian lifestyle could be comfortably had by anyone who wanted to benefit from it," says Owner Scott Pointer. "That's why we have classes for both kids and adults, special lessons for children on the autism spectrum, really affordable trail rides and special events that get people off their phones and into nature."
Surrounded by rolling green hills and steps away from the riverbed, Santa Clarita Valley Equestrian Center is perfectly positioned for easy access - all while feeling a world away. "Parents bring the kids here, couples go on first dates here, cousins sign up for summer camp together here - it's a magical place that encourages authentic connections," says Owner Kelly Pointer.
Right now, experience the beauty of spring in Santa Clarita during a relaxing one-hour trail ride through our riverbed and surrounding area. Guests 6 and up will get to know their personal trail-ready steed and then comfortably mosey through a professionally-led trail for only $40 per person.

When Dentists Dine at Disneyland
With spring and summer breaks coming up fast, Disneyland will again be packed with hungry families - and dentists. "If you follow us on social media, you'll know that we have many impromptu business meetings at the park on our day off. We're all very 'Disney,'" jokes Becky Short, office manager for Dr. Marvin Tong's dental practice in Valencia. Here's what they eat so that they're making memories, not cavities.
For sweet treats, avoid gummy, sticky or hard candies and carb-laden sugary baked goods, advises Dr. Tong. Instead, order a Pineapple Dole Whip at the Tiki Juice Bar. This fresh-pineapple/sherbert/froyo hybrid is a refreshing, healthier option. So are the frozen chocolate-covered bananas available at most ice cream carts.
Craving a healthy, savory snack? "The chili-lime corn on the cob is a favorite," says Dr. Tong. "Just don't forget to floss when you get home!"
And when it's time to dive into a meal, the dental pros remind patients that a healthy mouth and healthy body are linked. "Nutrient-dense foods are not just going to make you feel good and look good, they'll improve your oral health, too," says Dr. Tong. With that in mind, try the Chieftan Chicken Skewers at Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland; they're a flavorful Polynesian-inspired meal that's a great source of protein. The Chef's Vegan Burger at Carnation Cafe, served with vegan chipotle mayo on a multigrain roll, is a tasty veg option.
"If all else fails and you find yourself gorging on sugary churros, at least you get to come and hang out in a dental office filled with people who love Disneyland as much as you do," says Short. "But next time, we're sending you with a mini tooth-brush kit and floss!"

What's the Big Deal about Pediatric Dentists, Anyway?
Have you ever wondered what all the fuss is about when it comes to seeing a specialist for your kids teeth - especially when they are disease free?
Pediatric dentists are like "pediatricians of the mouth and surrounding structures," undergoing two to three years of additional specialty training after dental school. They are also involved in research in one or more areas of the specialty and receive classes in child psychology, behavior guidance, growth and development - besides mastering all the clinical aspects of children's oral health and teeth. Many pediatric dentists go above and beyond and get board certified, an intense two-step process by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, to take their knowledge and expertise to the next level.
Pediatric dentistry is an age-specific specialty that caters to the oral health of all children ages 0 to 18.
A pediatric dental practice serves the comprehensive needs of these growing, constantly-changing humans in a fun, upbeat, positive and cheerful environment with all the bells and whistles like overhead TVs, video games, toys, treasure towers, prize boxes and more - all to make going to the dentist anxiety free and fun filled. The goal of the entire pediatric dental team is to ensure that children grow up with good oral habits, diet and nutrition and enjoy their dental visits, rather than being fearful of the dentist.

We did It!
"AR Workshop is my very favorite place. I ask my mom to take me and my friends here all the time! My grandma and I went together last week and we had a great experience. I love being able to make something special and pretty while also being very creative with my colors and design. All the people are so helpful, patient and nice. Our home has seven new signs we made at AR Workshop and they look so good! I would come here every day!"
