Our 5 year old son, Caleb, has been attending the Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts (SCSOPA) since fall 2019. Caleb has a vibrant personality and has a tremendous passion for entertaining others, which led to my wife and I looking for reputable schools which could professionally train him in the performance arts. We attended one of their open houses and by the end we knew it would be a great fit for Caleb. In a very short time, he went from no experience to being able to act out movie lines and memorize commercials. On Saturdays they set up auditions where the kids can meet with real agents in the industry. Caleb has had callbacks from 90 percent of the auditions he's been on and we're currently in the process of deciding which agent we'd like to work with going forward. SCSOPA not only has a great reputation in the SCV, but across the entire nation, as well. I personally have met several families that have uprooted and moved from other states to go to the school."

New Ways to Share your Gratitude
Whether you're used to gathering around the dining table with extended family, taking advantage of a local restaurant's brunch offerings or just keeping track of the football score, we're all going to be celebrating a little differently this year.
Zoom In
No get-togethers? Share dessert "in person" via technology. Perhaps everyone makes the same family recipe or has a planned "gratitude" to share with the group. It doesn't really matter as long as everyone's "together!"
Get Carded
Support the US Postal Service while sharing your affections with a card or letter before the holiday; it'll help close the distance.
Drop By
Stay socially distant while sharing the love - or a piece of pecan pie. Plan on dropping off a sweet treat or other token of your gratitude to their porch.

Pet Supplies Plus Now Offering Clinic Services
Join the pet lovers at Pet Supplies Plus, along with VIP Pet Care, as they begin offering services at the locally-owned store in Stevenson Ranch. The first clinic will run from 10am to 11am on November 7.

Thanksgiving through a Small Child's Eyes
What does Thanksgiving mean to a preschooler? Are children at that stage too young to understand the meaning of the holiday?
CBS Preschool has an amazing program every Thanksgiving that introduces the meaning of the holiday to kids. Each class takes the stage and performs a song or two for the parents in costumes that each have made and they celebrate with a feast where they share their favorite goodies.
The festive atmosphere, combined with the traditions of the holiday and the presence of friends and parents, help the children understand and look forward to the specialness of the upcoming holiday.
It's a great example of how CBS combines education with developmentally-appropriate fun. CBS uses both Jewish and American holidays as focal points to teach kids, and when no holidays are on the upcoming calendar, CBS Preschool still utilizes music, art and interactive fun to foster a love of learning in their classrooms.
