Santa Clarita is chock-full of exceptional non-profit organizations, but that doesn't mean that, sometimes, people want to think outside the box (Or city!) when it comes to donating resources or volunteering their time.
Here, you'll find three organizations introduced to us by Hollywood Grooming owners Chuck and Yael. Their company has committed resources and time to these incredible orgs - and you might want to, too!

Sydney attends Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts |
"My daughter, Sydney, started taking classes at
Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts (SCSOPA) last summer after getting a taste for acting in local theatre classes. I wasn't sure what the next step for her was. I am so glad that we found SCSOPA! The timing couldn't have been more perfect.
When they say they can help you make things happen, they aren't just spinning a tale. The classes they offer give you exactly what your child is looking for. The advice from Mike and his staff got us off on the right foot. They know how to get you started! I felt completely comfortable with them from the get-go. So did my daughter. It may seem like a big step to take, but committing to two to three classes per week just skyrocketed my daughter's confidence and skills. Within a couple of months she was booking short films and commercials.
They have the connections to get you in the door with top-notch agents and managers. If Mike says he's going to do something to help you, take him up on it because he means it! Thanks for all you've done for Sydney, SCSOPA family!" ~Shauna Smith

Take the Challenge and Donate a Teddy Bear to Henry Mayo
More than 10,200 children were admitted to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department last year. You can help Henry Mayo provide comfort to children during their Emergency Room visit by donating a new, nine- to 12-inch teddy bear or other stuffed animal friend.
Santa Clarita Valley residents and businesses are invited to take the Challenge, happening now through the end of April, and show you care by donating teddy bears to this worthwhile cause. Amanda Benson, business travel manager at the Hyatt Regency Valencia, was so pleased at the care her son received at Henry Mayo's Emergency Department when he was younger, that she is assisting the hospital with the April teddy bear drive. "My son still has the stuffed animals he was given when he was in the ER and now that he is older I wanted to participate so both my kids can help give back to the community," Benson said, adding that she has reached out to her business contacts in the community. "Chances are they will need to use this hospital just like my son did."
