What's in a name? Good Neighbor Pharmacies of Santa Clarita Valley want to make sure to live up to their "Good Neighbor" title. The folks at Valencia Pharmacy, Valencia Town Center Pharmacy and Saugus Drugs & Hallmark are putting their time and money where their mouth is and truly being good neighbors. Here's a rundown of recent "neighborly" activity.

Food Drive
The local Good Neighbor Pharmacies kicked off the Good Neighbor campaign by running a holiday food drive with donations going to the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry. They even donated a High Def TV to be raffled off to patients who donated food items for the drive (clever!). Between the three SCV pharmacies, 3,500 pounds of food were collected for the food pantry.

Putting Green at Bouquet Canyon Senior Apartments
Another good deed was done with seniors in mind. The Bouquet Canyon Senior Apartments in Santa Clarita are wonderfully maintained, however, they had an old putting green that needed some TLC. The folks at GNP offered the funds and manpower to refurbish the green and had a grand opening party on Saturday January 30. Over 100 seniors from the apartments attended the party and enjoyed the free barbecue, raffles and putting contests.

Good Neighbor Pharmacies of SCV Introduce "In it Together" Program
Sign Up and a Portion of your Medication Costs will Benefit Struggling SCV Residents
The "In it Together" program is funded entirely by the Good Neighbor Pharmacies of SCV and allows Santa Clarita residents who are struggling financially to obtain their medications for free.

Here's how it works: When a new patient comes into any of the Good Neighbor Pharmacies of SCV and asks for their prescription to be a part of the "In it Together" program, the pharmacy donates one percent of the cost of the medication into a fund for SCV residents who are unable to afford their medications.

The "In it Together Program" is a wonderful way for SCV residents to help their neighbors in need without any cost to themselves. When they fill their prescriptions with any of the Good Neighbor Pharmacies of SCV they can get great service while helping to build the "In it Together" fund.
