I have been in practice for over 20 years. During that time, one of the most frustrating things to treat has been fungus toenails. The most effective treatment in the past has been oral medications, which can have rare but serious complications. The newest treatment is PinPointe foot laser, which has an 80 to 88 percent success rate. There are no complications when done correctly, in the office, with one treatment. The nail begins to grow out clear, starting at the base. Clearing will continue to the tip of the toe over the next eight to 12 months. While recovering from back surgery, I was handed many brochures for home care and told to start making phone calls. I spoke with Linda of Visiting Angels. She immediately put me at ease. Visiting Angels serves the patient. They do not dictate my requests. That afternoon, Care Manager Kathy Tucker, RN visited me. Kathy informed me of basic procedures and hourly rates (which were totally appropriate). Visiting Angels helps as much or as little as required for the amount of time needed.
