Brady White
Hart High Football, Senior
White may be the most-talked-about football player in the SCV since Kyle Boller. National prep sports website Maxpreps has him ranked as the number-two quarterback in the nation coming off a season in which he passed for 4,535 yards and 41 touchdowns in leading Hart High to its first CIF championship in a decade. The Arizona State-commit is on pace to become the school's all-time passing yardage leader in his third year as varsity quarterback. He is just 941 yards away from surpassing the record.
Lindsey Knudsen
Valencia High Volleyball, Senior
After her sister Delaney was the Foothill League Player of the Year in 2012, little sister Lindsey came in and won the honor as a junior in 2013. She led the Vikings to a Foothill League championship for the 11th time in 12 seasons in 2013. The outside hitter had 380 kills, 308 digs and 40 aces in 2013. Lindsey, a co-team captain this season, is a St. Mary's College commit. Her sister Kelsey is a sophomore in the program.
Jagger Rusconi
West Ranch High Baseball, Senior
Rusconi is gritty, willing to sacrifice his body for the team and is ultra-competitive. As a freshman, the West Ranch High middle infielder was already one of the valley's best baseball players. It was that season that he committed to the University of Southern California. A mixture of speed, smarts and confidence, Rusconi is an early candidate for Player of the Year in 2015 and will leave the school as one of its greatest baseball players of all time.
Azaria Hill
Golden Valley High Track & Field & Basketball, Junior
There probably hasn't been an athlete with better bloodlines in SCV history than Azaria Hill. Her mother was an Olympic gold-medal sprinter, her father was a World Champion boxer and her brother was a professional baseball player. Hill has made her own name in the athletic world, though, being one of the valley's premier track and field athletes. A hamstring injury ended her season prematurely in 2014, but for two years running, she has been arguably the best sprinter in the Foothill League. She will also be a three-year varsity basketball player this season.
Israel and Liam Cabrera
Canyon High Football, Seniors
It's rare to see twin brothers be stars in the same sport, but Israel (or Izzy, as he is called.) and Liam Cabrera are the biggest names on the Canyon High
football odds team. Israel is known for his defense. His bulldog-like tenacity earned him a spot on the All-Foothill League first-team last season with a team-high 68 tackles and seven interceptions. Liam is the go-to-guy for the Canyon offense after a season in which he caught 73 passes for 1,243 yards and eight touchdowns.
Mariah Lopez
Saugus High Softball, Junior
Before Lopez even stepped foot inside a high school pitching circle, she was making news in the softball world. As a freshman, she had already committed to the University of Oklahoma. In her sophomore season in 2014, Lopez was the Foothill League Pitcher of the Year and was a CIF-Southern Section Division I first-team selection. Lopez was 14-3 in 2014 for the Centurions, with a 0.59 ERA and 170 strikeouts in 94 2/3 innings.
