It's our favorite time of year - holiday decor time! - and we're eager to deck the halls with the help of Henry Mayo's Holiday Home Tour. Each festive season, we look forward to getting an up-close look at Santa Clarita's finest homes, all dressed up for celebration! Here we take a look back at two old favorites as we eagerly await the opportunity to explore this year's most fabulously appointed houses on the annual tour.

WHAT WE LOVE
Rich & Woodsy Pairings
Luxurious dark woods, tapestry fabrics, handcrafted furniture and refined details can seem stuffy alone, but combine them with luxuriously-lush greenery, natural elements like cascading leaves and floral sprays, and the space becomes one of warmth and welcome. Deep-cushioned sofas invite you to settle in for a magical night spent mesmerized by twinkling tree lights made magnificent with the addition of glass globe ornaments.

WHAT WE LOVE
Traditional Tablescapes
There's just something about a well-set table that makes the environment that much more festive. Here, wine glasses with gold and deep-red enameled stems remind guests that this isn't just another dinner. The sparkle is magnified thanks to a mirrored frame, pulling double duty as a serving tray. Natural sprays of pine add organic dimension and fragrance to the space illuminated by candlelight. Bright boughs flank the formal living room's mirror above the buffet, providing texture and whimsy.

WHAT WE LOVE
Tiny Details that make a Big Impression
Resist the temptation to decorate only in the primary areas of your home. Here, a petite vase filled with greenery and a single ornament give this guest room a touch of seasonal flair. Consider rotating your decorative pillows to incorporate the colors and designs of your holiday decor.

WHAT WE LOVE
Grand Displays of Design
"Subtle" is often ideal, but when it comes to holiday decor, rarely can "bold" be beat. Case in point: this elegantly-dressed tree and mantle pairing that communicates a sense of bounty to all who pass. Layers of bronze, burgundy, gold and greens shimmer under brilliant bulbs while sconce lighting and a fire glow beside. The regal sense of the space is balanced with natural elements like pine cones and dressed reindeer.
A Favorite Resource for Furniture & Accessories
Many of Santa Clarita's finest homes are decorated with furniture and accessories from Bella Venezia, a purveyor of handmade and distinctive items. Here, the artwork, coffee and foyer table, as well as the florals, were selected from Bella Venezia. 254-2246
Gorgeous Garland
A dramatic grand staircase is made more so with the addition of yards and yards of garland greenery, rich ribbons and luxe ornaments. The same attention to detail is applied to the exterior of the home, where thousands of twinkling lights beckon passerby to take a second look.

WHAT WE LOVE
Special Spaces
From the stone-covered wall to the sparkling crystal chandelier, bold collection of oversized ornaments and breathtaking dried florals on display, this formal dining room is dressed to impress for the holiday. No area goes without design in this space; even the windows become part of the holiday scape with a swag of greens, ribbons, florals and ornaments.

Four spectacular Santa Clarita Valley homes will be decked out in true holiday splendor during Henry Mayo's 36th annual Home Tour on Saturday, December 3 from 9:30am to 4:30pm. The theme this year is "Home for the Holidays."
In addition to the Home Tour, a Special Gala on Friday, December 2 will offer a preview glimpse of the homes from 6pm to 9pm with a festive buffet dinner at the Tournament Players Club from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. Guests can experience a Winter Wonderland of snow on the Gala evening with a possible sighting of Santa while enjoying a glass of champagne at one of the homes.
On the day of the Home Tour, a Holiday Boutique featuring a wide selection of creative and unique holiday items for sale will be open to the public from 9am to 5pm at the Henry Mayo Center on the hospital's campus. Bring your friends and family and shop from a selection of beautiful holiday items presented by more than 30 vendors.
Visitors will have an opportunity to tour the homes decorated in unique themes of festive holiday decor in the gated community of Westridge in Valencia. Graciously opening their homes to the community, the homeowners are working with interior designers to showcase contemporary and traditional holiday perspectives in each individual home. Creative local designers Patrick Tremblay, Jeanna Crawford of Inside SCV Magazine and Jen Brown from Surfaces SCV Design Center will bring the magic of the season to each home with their own unique interpretations of the holiday season. Home Tour tickets cost $35, or $30 if purchased in advance.
