Tammy and Les Delmarter will be celebrating their 30-year wedding anniversary this month. Over the last three decades, they've raised a son (David, now an attorney); founded a business (HR Technologies, a software development company in Newhall); and created a home (a Tuscan-inspired place in Stevenson Ranch) that embodies the California-style living they both love.

Tammy created each space with comfort in mind. Eschewing the advice of a designer, the homeowner took on the task herself, keeping one overarching concept in mind: "Matchy-matchy is what I like; it's comforting to me."

Delmarter was a piano teacher and church pianist, so room for a baby grand was essential. "We wanted the living room to be open, airy and casual," says Tammy. The rug was purchased at Brent's Carpet One.
