The custom cabinets in a pure white go all the way to the ceiling to make them feel taller, shares designer Rebecca Rollins. "We added an appliance garage for ample small-appliance storage. Because appliance garages can feel very heavy, we broke it up with clear glass doors above for a lighter feel."
Many Santa Clarita homeowners can relate: You love your address, but the "builder" look doesn't meet your needs - or vision.
The pantry boasts closed storage for all the boxes and bins that nobody wants to see, plus big drawers for easy-to-grab snacks. The glass doors in the middle break up the massive wall of cabinets and allow the homeowners to show off their beautiful dishware. "The table was custom made so we could get the exact size and stain to pair with the rest of the kitchen," explains Rollins. The leather and wood dining chairs add more layers and pop. Vases from the RRI home collection add elegance to the space.
That's where designer Rebecca Rollins of Rebecca Rollins Interiors comes in. "This project began like many - we had a typical 'builder' Stevenson Ranch kitchen with dark cabinets, outdated appliances and granite."
"We knew we wanted a 'good hood moment' and we needed to break up the long row of cabinets on the focal wall," explains the designer. The hood is plaster crafted in a warm gray tone with beautiful curve detail for depth paired with custom light-stained white oak floating shelves on each side.
Because Rollins wasn't removing walls or changing the layout of the kitchen, her team had to get creative. "We knew we had to pack a lot of beauty into a finite space," she recalls.
From beverage drawers tucked beneath the new appliance garage to panel-ready appliances for a custom look, every inch of this home benefited from a custom upgrade.
"The island couldn't change in size, but we did add waterfall sides and a contrasting custom stain on the side for a more dramatic look," says Rollins. "It pairs with the floating shelves and helps add texture this kitchen desperately needed."

"We finished the space with accents from the RRI home collection," says Rollins. The curated collection of accessories can be used in any space thanks to the natural colors and textures.
