Transitional Glam in Santa Clarita
May, 2024 - Issue #230

The home's marble tiles, gold finishes and warm quartz play well together, creating a luxurious look and feel that's still welcoming and accessible.

Have you ever wanted to see how a designer decorates their own home?
Now is your chance.

"For the kitchen update, we wanted to add a remodeled look and feel while maintaining function and beauty. We brought in warmth with wood tones to the island as well as the hood with gold hardware. It really pops against the white cabinets for an overall luxurious result," explains the designer. She also created a bar out of what was a desk area. "We crafted counter and stool space in what was a bookshelf area. We love how the quartz countertops run up the wall for a nice, clean, elevated look," says Diaz.

Melissa Diaz of Stunningly Staged Homes has generously shared an inside look at her own house, which she recently remodeled.

"The powder bathroom is a fun space to create a dark and moody aesthetic," says Diaz. She accomplished just that with gold, warm wallpaper and a black vanity with quartz sink boasting gold glam finishes in the plumbing and lighting.

"The aesthetic is very much Transitional Glam," shares the expert. "We used marble tiles, gold finishes and warm quartz to give a layered, luxurious look and feel."

"We wanted the laundry room to be fun while adding functionality, so we crafted more cabinetry, pull-out laundry baskets and a hanging rack for clothes," says Diaz. The designer also added a beautiful weaved-texture wallpaper and then used a rich mauve paint on the upper cabinets to balance with the creamy warm color on the lower cabinets. A soaking tub and separate frameless enclosed shower make "basic" hygiene anything but.

The home is a beautiful reflection of Diaz's design prowess and her refined ability to customize spaces to the people who occupy them.
