Santa Clarita's Housing Market Still Exhibits Housing Shortage
Even with a hint of rising interest rates (Don't worry - they're still low!), buyers are clamoring to get their hands on well-positioned properties in Santa Clarita. We still, as a community, don't have enough inventory - and that means this market can be very kind to homeowners with houses that are well maintained and "move-in ready." Santa Clarita - with our quality schools, well-maintained communal spaces, good jobs and proximity to metro areas - is drawing a remarkable number of buyers from outside the area who are ready to spend. But where are SCV sellers going? Most are upgrading locally, taking advantage of the equity they've built, which also puts more pressure on the market. The conclusion: If you're thinking of selling, you're still well positioned to do so, especially if your home is in good-to-excellent condition. Going forward, if rates rise, we can expect the market to do a little more correction, reducing demand. If selling is more a "yes" than a "maybe," you should talk to your preferred Realtor sooner rather than later.
