How to Sell a Home During the Holidays
Don't be discouraged. Sure, many buyers tap out during the busy season - but that means that the ones remaining are incredibly motivated. Plenty of homes are bought and sold during the holidays - yours can be one of them.
Do decorate for the holidays. You don't have to skip the annual festivities because your home is on the market. In fact, if your design is neat, clutter free and festive, it could actually help potential buyers "see themselves" celebrating the same way next year. Emotional appeals are great ways to sell a home!
Don't spread yourself too thin. If you're having a huge gathering on Saturday, ask your Realtor to stop showing your property on Thursday. Communication is key.
Do go out of town! There are few phrases more welcome to a Realtor than, "We won't be around for a week." Your home can stay show-ready while you're visiting out-of-state family for the holidays, or taking a much-deserved pre-move vacation.

There's Nothing like Celebrating the Holidays in Channel Islands
There are few places in the world where your child or grandchild can wake up to see Santa on his boat, waving to harbor-side kids before they open their gifts - but that's standard Channel Islands charm! This lovely beach community, just an hour from Valencia, has become Santa Clarita's "great escape," brimming with SCV residents who've leased or purchased a second home in the harbor. Beachy and beautiful, with enviable warm weather, the community comes to life especially around the holidays, with light displays, colorful cruises, festive shopping and dining events and so much more. The holiday gift that keeps on giving to your entire family might be a beachside vacation home! Right now, they're an investment most families can surprisingly afford. Call for details.
