A Valentine's Message
What I Want for You in '22
by Kathy Watterson
Can we all agree that - whether you're buying, selling or staying put - every one of us could benefit from a little more love... with the place we call home?
You know how when you watch a romantic movie and the love interest with the model-esque features does something so swoon worthy, so out-of-this-world adorable, that you're tempted to look over at your own significant other mid film and say, "Why don't we have that?"
The quick answer to that question: Because life isn't a movie. If we're lucky, life is long. If we're luckier, it's filled with people we love - and the knowledge that, even with their human imperfections, our existence is better because they exist.
We can better appreciate the place we call home through the same lens. Couture decor magazines, home improvement shows and Instagram influencers can make us feel like the space we call home - the rooms where we live, where we love, where we feel most protected - are not worthy of admiration and affection.
Just like a marriage shouldn't be compared to a movie, homes don't need to be held to the standard of a perfectly-lit Photoshopped image on social media.
Your home may not be an ideal fit. If that's the case, I hope you give a good Realtor a call and find your soulmate match. And if you do adore your home but have moments of cringe when it doesn't "measure up," please don't feel bad that it might have a few bumps, bruises...
or semi-permanent laundry piles. That just means you and your home have lived and loved together - and that's worth celebrating, too.
The Kathy Watterson Team puts their 33 years of experience to work for you. 510-0321
