Top Five Autumn Irrigation Tips
Crisp fall nights and mornings signal Mother Nature's annual cooling trend and a sign for us to dial back our outdoor water use. Together, we can voluntarily reduce our water use by 20 percent over 20202 to meet SCV Water's current drought requirements.
Here are SCV Water's top five outdoor irrigation tips for this season:
TIP 1: Water only in the morning and evening. In addition, outdoor landscaping needs less water due to cooler temperatures and shorter days.
Midnight to 9am and/or 8pm to midnight
November to April: Midnight to 10am and/or 6pm to midnight
TIP 2: Water no more than three days per week.

No Watering on Saturdays
TIP 3: Set watering run times to a maximum of two five-minute cycles per station per watering day - 10 minutes max.

Plan Ahead for a Stress Free Holiday
It's no secret that this time of year, while wonderful, can quickly become the most stressful season, too. If you would like to reduce your stress and enjoy more memory making moments, here's
some tips.
Put activities on the family calendar and pre-plan as much as you can: buy special outfits for events or family photos well ahead of time; get the important shopping done now; decide what else can be done in advance - and do it.
Ask your kids to write a letter to Santa - or write to you! - identifying what they'd like under the tree. Set a budget for each kid and do your best to be finished with all shopping by December 5, before the holiday rush.
Create a gift-wrapping station and a master gift list to keep you from under or overbuying. Set aside time once a week to wrap gifts.
When putting up your holiday decor, only display what you love this year. If you don't love it, now is a great time to donate it! Facebook also has plenty of SCV groups that make selling your items easy!
To make room for the inevitable and overwhelming incoming of toys your kids will get this year, ask them to help purge with you. You'll be surprised how much more willing they are to get rid of things when they know new ones are coming in soon and how happy they will be to donate to someone in need.
